“Submit your site to 10,000 search engines!!”
No! Please don’t do this. It’s a complete waste of your time, and the only thing that will happen is you will receive lots of unwanted email spam. As a client of PixelGems, we take care of search engine submissions for you.
Right now, in our opinion there are only three search engines that really matter; Google, Yahoo and MSN. These three search engines are used by 90% of internet users on a regular basis. You probably use one of the big three yourself. All three of these engines use automated programs called “spiders” to “crawl” the web. They search out web sites and index and store information on what they find. So in reality, you no not actually have to submit your site to these search engines, as they will search you out and find you. As a client of PixelGems your new web site will be discovered very quickly. These search engines “spider” our web site on a regular basis. Because we will have links from our site to yours, the search engines will find your site and index it. And best of all – it’s FREE. There are some free auto-submission sites out there, but in our professional opinion it’s not worth the effort. Google, Yahoo and MSN feed many of the smaller search engines because the smaller search engines do not have the resources the big ones do. They simply use feeds from the bigger ones and there are several meta-search engines that combine results from several searches. But as long as you are linked on the big three you will be discovered and indexed, and that's the big important first step. You time is better spent on getting reciprocal links and providing more content for your site. We cover these two topic later on.
